A new build replacement dwelling tucked into a quiet West London mews. Outside, the house holds the classic London mews vocabulary: Crittall openings, considered brickwork, and a roofline that sits comfortably amongst its neighbours. Step through the door and the language shifts: the interiors are confidently contemporary, layered with organic textures, warm timbers, and tactile plaster, so the house reads as a calm modern home dressed within a familiar London skin. Architecture and interiors were drawn as one piece of work from the first sketch through to the final detail.
A former bed and breakfast on the south Gower coast, reconfigured into three self contained two bedroom holiday apartments designed to hold their rate year round. Studio AROS led the architecture, the planning case (within the Gower AONB) and the interior design as one piece of work. Each apartment is laid out for short stays: generous open plan living that opens to the coast, easy changeover storage, and a tight separation between sleeping and social spaces so a full house and a quiet couple both feel right. The Gower interior design language is modern and quietly minimal, then gently turned toward the coast: lime washed plaster, oak underfoot, soft boucle and linen, with marble and aged metal moments where the design earns a flourish. Coastal interior design and organic, natural-material thinking pulled together so the building, the rooms and the guest experience all speak in the same voice.
A high end refurbishment of a private family home in Kensington, designed for the owners rather than for a let or a sale. Every brief was answered against how the family actually lives: a generous kitchen that earns long evenings, quiet corners for homework and reading, bedroom floors that feel calm and considered, and a material palette specified for years of daily use. Joinery, lighting and finishes were resolved in close conversation with the clients, so the finished house feels personal rather than catalogued, with the polish and longevity expected at this end of the market.
A full refurbishment of a top floor apartment on Portobello Road, designed from the start as a high end holiday let aimed at international travellers wanting a stay in one of London’s most iconic streets. Every layout decision was made with rotating guests in mind: forgiving finishes, robust joinery, considered storage for changeovers, and a layered material palette that photographs beautifully on a listing and still feels generous on the second evening. Calm, characterful and unmistakably London, dressed for guests who notice the detail.
